What does my dosh get me then, huh?
One of the best things about doing the Mongol Rally is being part of the event and the people you’ll meet along the way. Teams regularly end up convoying across the world with new driving buddies and getting into all sorts of pickles with people they would never have met in the real world. The other big one is us looking after your car in Mongolia and making sure that all the money - from the pre-rally donations and sale of the cars in Mongolia - goes to excellent projects that you are then updated on regularly. Not to mention a raft of parties and lifetime free entry to the adventurists re-union.
Read on for more information on what you get and if you have any other questions about the entry fee just drop us a line via the Get in touch page.
Entry Fee: £456 including VAT per team*
* A team is one car or two motorbikes / scooters
Why has it gone up from the 2007 price?
The rally has been growing pretty rapidly and unfortunately that means some of our costs have been going up as well. We also now get stung for VAT which we have to add onto everything we charge people for.
What you get in brief:
This isn't an exhaustive list because there is some other stuff, but it gives you a good idea of what you're paying for.

- Text messaging update system which automatically plots your position on a Google map.
- Regular team meetings and events in the build up and reunions
- Entry to launch party
- Entry to first night party in Europe (location to be confirmed!)
- Arrival party in Mongolia
- Importation paperwork for your car into Mongolia and the joy of being able to hand over the car at the end and relax without any paperwork or arrangements (saving you a fair old whack on standard customs import tax for older vehicles)
- We manage the storage and sale of your car in Mongolia and associated paperwork and then distribute the funds from the sale of your cars to charities in Mongolia.
- Access to the team-only visa service which undercuts the other agency fees by a long way (it's not free, but much cheaper than the others!)
- Information and advice about fundraising, sponsorship and getting media coverage
- Contact email address and phone number to use when you have questions
- Official rally t-shirt for each registered team member at the start
- Car stickers for the launch
- We also liaise closely with the official charities and the charities who receive funding from the funds raised by the cars in Mongolia and will arrange for you to be regularly updated on how the money is used.
The car stuff in more detail
- We make all the arrangements for your car to be imported into Mongolia tax free because the car will either be donated to a charity or sold and all the money raised donated to a charity in Mongolia.
- When you arrive you will be able to drop your car off with us and we look after the storage and sale/donation of the car and the associated paperwork to complete the import and facilitate its registration as a Mongolian vehicle by the new owner.
- We then work closely with charities in Mongolia to distribute the funds to great causes and keep you updated with information on how the money is spent.

Before the Rally in more detail
- Team meetings and events - we will arrange a series of team meetings and events throughout the lead up to the rally so you can meet us, meet the charities and meet each other. Some of it will be informative, some of it will be informal, but all of it will be a laugh and a chance to meet your fellow ralliers). We'll also happy to help if you want to organise a gathering of your own in a particular country or region to meet ralliers in your area.
- Some useful information about the rally We'll do our very best to answer your questions and help out with advice and help where we can (although the information we release about the rally in general and what it's like on the road isn't extensive because otherwise it wouldn't be an adventure!)
- A contact number with regular windows of opportunity to contact the Mongol Rally office with your questions or just have a chat
- A contact email address to send your questions to
- Advice and guidelines on fundraising, sponsorship, and getting media coverage for your team including template press releases.
- An archive of images, information about past rallies and soon some video clips to help with your quest for fundraising, sponsorship and media coverage.
Visa Service information
- Open to residents of the UK, our visa service is much cheaper than the standard agencies out there and sometimes we're the only ones that manage to get the tricky visas!
- We can offer a bit of advice for residents of other countries but the rules change embassy to embassy and country to country.
The Launch and Finish Parties
- We will organise a gathering the night before the off which you will of course have free entry to.
- We'll arrange the launch day so you can start the rally with a shedload of other teams, which is always an awesome day
- There will be another party just after the start of the rally (voluntary attendance of course) in Europe, exact location to be confirmed!
- There will be an official black tie bash in Mongolia around four weeks after the start of the rally and then we'll arrange another smaller party a week later too.
- When you arrive there will be some helpful information on UB and we'll organise an opportunity to visit some of the charity projects funded by the Mongol Rally if you want to see the excellent work they do in personal
The League of What!?
The League of Adventurists International Ltd. Otherwise known as Mr. Tom, Mr. Lamorna HG (Honourary Gentleman), Mr. Andy and Mr. Dan. Apart from being a ridiculously long name, that's the name of the company that runs the Mongol Rally and the rest of the adventurists' mighty fine events.
We have a small office in Bristol and a small part of all the Entry Fees for all the events we run is used to pay for tea bags and sugar. We pay ourselves rubbish wages because we love being involved in these events but there are some unavoidable costs in running stuff like this from small stuff like train tickets to events, flights and printing right up to the big stuff including tax, multiple insurances and legal fees because the rally ain't safe! We do our best to keep all our costs to a minimum, including having an office in an area the police don't like going to.
Our aim is to get sponsorship and get TV companies interested in the events so that we can keep the entry fee low. As with everything else, if you have any questions just give us a shout.
